Genuzio Carletti (Cento 1905-1996) was one of the best luthiers of the Carletti family. Born at Pieve di Cento, where he always worked; he was the cousin of Natale and Orfeo, who were also well-known string instrument makers.

He started working in the 30s distinguishing himself already in 1949 at the Cremona International Competition, where he was awarded the first prize with a viola.

He also obtained two gold medals in two Cremona Biennial Exhibitions as well as other prizes and recognitions at Bagnacavallo and Ascoli Piceno. His instruments were awarded prizes and there is great demand for them even abroad.
