On September 16th 2006, with a short ceremony at the Conservatorio "E.F. Dall'Abaco" in Verona the winners were handed out the instruments offered as prizes.
Though the handing out of the prizes was not public, it was a particularly touching and significant moment for the Prize: winners, who have been waiting for three months, are anxious to try the instruments for which they have so much worked and studied and to know if they will suit to their characteristics and personality; the organizers are worried that all the work carried out in order to help young musicians may be frustrated if the instruments do not completely fulfil the expectations of those who are about to receive them. That is why the smile which also this time appeared on the winners’ faces as soon as they started playing the instruments they have been awarded has dissipated the tension and left place to cheerfulness and rejoicing.
All the members of the Jury took part in the ceremony, namely Maestri UMBERTO FORNI, PIERO BOSNA, ALBERTO MARTINI and DAVIDE ZALTRON, so the winners could turn to account their presence in order to get useful advice from persons particularly qualified on the best use of the instruments received they were entrusted with, as well as on the continuation of their career. The young musicians welcomed with great pleasure the presence of Maestro Alessandro Tossani from Cremona, the luthier of the Prize, who illustrated to everyone the technical features of each single instrument and how to exploit it in the best way.
