WINNERS’ CONCERT OF THE 2006 EDITION
The winners’ concert of the 2006 edition took place in Verona, at the Sala Maffeiana of the Philharmonic Theatre, on March 23rd 2007.
The four young musicians winners of the 2006 edition along with the three winners of the 2004 edition met for the Winners’ Concert promoted by the Premio "Francesco Geminiani" in partnership with the BANCA POPOLARE DI VERONA (Group Banco Popolare di Verona e Novara), which supported the event persuaded about its importance and distinctiveness besides the significance that actions of cultural promotion can have for our territory.
In the first part of the concert, the winners of the 2006 edition played a virtuoso piece solo or with piano accompaniment, namely:
- Marija Drincic,accompanied by the pianist Stefano Chiozzi, performed "Drei Fantasiestücke", Op. 73 for cello and piano by R. Schumann;
- Giuseppe Russo Rossi made a solo performance plaiyng the Prelude from the "Sixth Suite for solo cello Bwv 1012" by J.S. Bach;
- Diana Lupascu, accompanied by the young pianist Janna Nijnitchenko, performed "Zigeunerweisen" ("Gypsy Airs"), Op. 20 for violin and piano by P. Sarasate;
- Elena Mikhailova, accompanied by Victoria Mikhailova, performed "La Ronde des lutins" ("The Dance of the Goblins"), Op. 25 for violin and piano by A. Bazzini.
In the second part, the four winners of the 2006 edition, along with the three winners of the 2004 edition, Costantin Beschieru on violin, Xhoan Shkreli on violin and Alexander Monteverde on viola, with the kind participation on cello of M.° Pietro Bosna, played the "Octet for arches in E flat major, Op. 20" by F. Mendelssohn.
The event was hosted very professionaly by the journalist Sara Centenari, who clearly introduced all the performances.
The great audience, that crowded the concert hall, heartily confirmed the success of the manifestation, applauding warmly. This was also reflected in the local press and television.
