THE SEAT

The first edition of the competition for the award of the Premio "Francesco Geminani" took place on May 22nd 2004 in Verona, in the historical "Casa Boggian", Stradone San Fermo № 28, a branch seat of the Conservatorio "E.F. Dall'Abaco".

THE JURY

The Jury was composed of M° Luca Bertazzi, a violinist and quartet teacher at the Conservatorio "Lucio Campiani" of Mantua; M° Pietro Bosna, a cellist and quartet teacher at the Conservatorio "E.F. Dall'Abaco" of Verona; M° Carlo Costalbano, a violist and quartet teacher at the Conservatorio "Luca Marenzio" of Brescia; M° Umberto Forni, an organist and harpsichordist, teacher at the Conservatorio "E.F. Dall'Abaco" of Verona and member of the Prize Founding Committee; and finally Dr Lucio Lombardi, also a member of the Prize Founding Committee.

WINNERS

At the end of the tests the Jury – while congratulating the candidates for their grounding level –agreed on the award of the instruments as follows:

Constantin Beschieru: violin "Cristina II" by M° Otello Bignami;

Xhoan Shkreli: violin by M° Genuzio Carletti;
Alexander Monteverde: viola by M° Celestino Farotto;
Miriam Prandi: cello by M° Anselmo Curletto.
