THE SEAT

The second edition of the competition for the award of the Premio "Francesco Geminani" took place on June 5th and 6th 2006 in Verona, in the historical "Casa Boggian", Stradone San Fermo № 28, a branch seat of the Conservatorio "E.F. Dall'Abaco".

THE JURY

The Jury was composed of M° Pietro Bosna, a cellist and quartet teacher at the Conservatorio "E.F. Dall'Abaco", Verona; M° Alberto Martini, a violinist and violin teacher at the Conservatorio "F.A. Bonporti", Trento; M° Umberto Forni, an organist and harpsichordist, teacher at the Conservatorio "E.F. Dall'Abaco", Verona and member of the Prize Founding Committee; M° Davide Zaltron, a violist and viola teacher at the Conservatorio "Arrigo Pedrollo", Vicenza; finally, Dr Lucio Lombardi, also a member of the Prize Founding Committee.

WINNERS

At the end of the tests the Jury – while congratulating the candidates for their grounding level – agreed on the award of the instruments as follows:

 

Elena Mikhailova, born in Baku but with Spanish nationality: the violin by Giuseppe Sgarbi (Rome 1885);
Diana Lupascu, born in Moldova: the violin by Otello Bignami (Bologna 1977);
Marija Drinčić, born in Belgrade (Serbia): the cello by Anselmo Curletto (Turin 1930); winner following the renunciation of the candidate come out first;
Giuseppe Russo Rossi, born in Bari: the viola by Giacomo and Leandro Bisiach (Milan 1963).
